To kick-off the beautiful month of May, allow me the pleasure to officially introduce the card-making Design Team members for Art du scrapbooking. From now on, our inspiring team of four talented and dynamic women will suggest weekly and monthly challenges as well as card-making activities. To complete our team, two new members have joined us.
We have asked each of the members to come and let us know a little bit about themselves. You will find below a summary of their experience and creative path, as well as pictures of a few of their creations. We also asked each one of them to reveal their top 5.
Here are the members of our great card-making team: Claralesfleurs, who heads the group, as well as her colleagues Dolphine, Istou and Kasimodo.
As DT Guest member, first let us introduce Kasimodo, who will share the spotlight for the months of May and June.
My name is Manon, also known as Kasimodo or Esmeralda on the various message boards. I am 44 and I have been sharing my life for the past 31 years already with a wonderful man who supports me and encourages my various endeavors, and I have three sons, aged 13, 15 and 19; I have a wonderful life and a passion for art: writing, jewelry, crafts, I love it all. I love creating to please the people I love. I discovered card-making quite by accident, after being forced to leave a high-level position for health reasons. It was love at first sight, and it continues to grow since 2010. Last February, I launched my blog, so I could share my creations.
I don't have any particular style, but I do love flowers and I love to make my own. I enjoy trying out new styles to get me out of my comfort zone. I find my inspiration in a challenge, a color, a paper... I take pleasure in playing around with all those beautiful embellishments (pearls, ribbons, flowers, etc.), until the WOW effect happens. Meticulous and a perfectionist, I spend lots of time making each card just right. I got my knowledge from surfing the net, taking part in various message boards and blogs.
Therefore, it is with pride and enthusiasm that I take on this new and exciting challenge and hope to inspire you through my creations.
I want to thank Art du scrapbooking, and in particular Clara, for giving me this opportunity and the pleasure, for a short while, to be part of a great team. I am touched.

Now, here is Istou, full member of the card-making team.
Hello, I am Isabelle, but I am better known as Istou on the web. I am 36 and I live in France, in a small village in the Picardie region, with my husband and my two children, Mathilde, 15, and Florian, 12. I have been an administrative assistant in the medical field for 19 years now. 25 years ago, I began a love story with Quebec... I had the opportunity to take part in a student exchange in 1985 and I have kept contact ever since with my correspondents, whom I have had the pleasure to meet several times, on either side of the ocean.
I have always enjoyed the arts and crafts and, after trying cross-stitch, bead jewelry and some napkin collage, scrapbooking completely won me over. I began in 2007, after a colleague showed me her beautifully decorated albums. I started with a few pages, and fell in love with card-making, but I do still create the occasional page. I really like making mini albums or repurpose found objects, and I particularly enjoy creating gifts for others. My favorite style is shabby, I love old photos, vintage images, lace and flowers.
I am very pleased to join the card-making team and I thank Chantal and Clara for their vote of confidence.

Some of you may already know her, since she's been with us for a while already. It is our pleasure to introduce Dolphine.
I am Christine, also known as Dolphine. I have a daughter and I work in the field of healthcare.
Since a young age, I have always loved creating; I have tried my hand at decorative painting, ceramic, candles, soap-making, chocolate...
I have been scrapbooking for about 5 years, but I don't have a particular style, or if I do, I don't know what it is... And I enjoy making cards above all. I like shabby and vintage styles and I have been trying my hand at those recently.
I was a teacher at the store for about a year and a half, but lack of time and energy forced me to stop. But Chantal offered me to join the card making team and I hope that I will be able to inspire you through my creations.
See you soon!

And let us conclude by introducing Claralesfleurs, who joined the team early March.
My name is Clara, but I am better known as Claralesfleurs. I am 45 and have a 22 year-old daughter. I used to be a secretary in a C.L.S.C., but I had to stop work due to serious health issues. I teach decorative painting and a few scrapbooking techniques. I always had a great interest and ease in arts and crafts (drawing, painting, etc.). In 1999, I discovered decorative painting and began teaching is in 2003.
In 2008, my cousin made me discover scrapbooking, which slowly became my second passion. First, I only made cards, and then, I started creating pages as well. In early 2010, I launched my scrapbooking blog and began to discover a whole new world of techniques and taking part in contests. After winning second place for my participation in a French card challenge, I joined the Créablabla design team. I also take part regularly in American challenges and contests, of which I also won a few. Last fall, I began to give private scrapbooking workshops.
My main style is shabby (from vintage to modern), as I really like its aged, feminine look, with creations that always show lace, beads, flowers, and, often times, sewing details. I am a loner, so I enjoy spending hours at a time quietly creating. Honestly, I don't think I could live without creating; it's a part of me.

We would also like to thank Kawi and Souri78 who have left the team. Souri78 is currently very involved with a new job and a new love. May she have a long, loving and happy life. As for Kawi, you can read on her own blog the reasons why she chose to leave. We wish both of them all the best in their future endeavors and we thank them for the great work they’ve accomplished during their stay, among other things; Kawi brought us two new columns (Artist of the Month and Color Combo) and Souri78 was a big help during our weekend crop last November
THANK YOU!
